At NTI we recognize how important it is to be in community.

Community events allow us to share experiences, discuss ideas and learn new things in a supportive environment. This is why we launched free NTI community events and host NTI United!. Our free community weekly events range from yoga to meditation to happy hour. Not only do they allow us to engage with our community but they also provide opportunities for us to invest in our health!  In addition, we also host NTI United! for students, alumni, faculty and staff. This is a perfect opportunity to build community and offer support for those directly affiliated with NTI.

Interpersonal connection occurs when we enjoy shared experiences. These experiences are actually capable of improving overall physical and mental health! Did you know that endorphins and “feel good” neurotransmitters like GABA, serotonin and dopamine are released when we experience joyful contact with others? These impulses are responsible for feelings of contentment, inner peace and general happiness.

Sustained endorphin release has also been linked to:

  • Better pain tolerance
  • Stable moods
  • Lower levels of stress
  • Decreased risk for inflammation-related illnesses like depression, heart disease, arthritis and GI distress

Not to mention the part of the brain called the limbic system, which regulates emotion, is fueled through connection. Whether through eye contact, physical touch, meaningful conversation or connection with a group, supporting this brain state is crucial to feeling seen, heard and understood. This helps individuals experience a deeper sense of personal and professional fulfillment as well.

The body and the brain thrive in community, and at NTI we stand by this as one of our core values. We hope to share in our love of holistic health and heart centered connection with you at our free community events! Find our list of offerings here: http://ntischool.com/news-events.

We look forward to connecting with you!
