In 2010, NTI opened the first of its international schools in one of the world’s most dynamic and exciting cities: Tokyo, Japan.
Known for generations for its balanced traditional diet and the long age span of its inhabitants, Japan has been rushing towards a modern health crisis due to the import of the modern American diet. With the rise of the Japanese fast food industry, processed, fatty foods, salt and sugar, Japanese society has seen an explosion of diet-related illnesses.
Shin Takeuchi, a pioneer in the health industry, extensively researched American institutions in order to find the right educational partner for his dream of educating a generation of nutrition therapists. After a comprehensive search, he settled upon Nutrition Therapy Institute because of its combination of excellence and tradition.
NTI Japan is the first of our international relationships.
