We can all agree that 2020 has been an unforgettable year. Although it has been a difficult time for most, we wanted to take a moment to look back on our achievements as a school, express our appreciation for our students, and share our excitement for the future of Nutrition Therapy Institute.
Our New Home
In August, we bid farewell to our 10+ year downtown Denver location. NTI has found a new home in vibrant Olde Town Arvada, known for the restaurants, shopping, and town-sponsored events. The historical building (nicknamed Nourish House) was built in 1893. The building was originally the Arvada Mayor’s house. It has been our goal to find a location where we can have our nutrition program and our chef training program all in one building – and we found it in lovely Olde Town Arvada!
Open House
We welcomed current and prospective students to our Open House in September. Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed – it was a joy to be surrounded by so many people passionate about holistic nutrition and show off our beautiful new building!
Natural Food Chef Program Kitchen Remodel
It has been our goal to host both our Nutrition Therapist Master and the Natural Food Chef program under one roof. In our new Arvada location, we are in the process of wrapping up construction for the brand-new teaching kitchen. With the help of our Lead Chef Tracy, the custom kitchen is designed to be an ideal learning environment for the Natural Food Chef program students. We look forward to starting our Spring 2021 Natural Food Chef term in February!
Instructor Changes
NTI had the privilege of welcoming 3 new instructors to our faculty: Tamara Miller (Anatomy & Physiology for the Nutritionist and Weight Management and Sports Nutrition in the classroom), Kelly Hatke (Nutritional Endocrinology and Reproductive Health in the classroom), and Lauren Friarson (Weight Management and Sports Nutrition online). We also said our bittersweet goodbyes to two of our long-standing instructors Sarah Cook and Christa Bitner. Thank you to all our past and current instructors for everything you do!
Our 2020 Graduates
In 2020, 16 students graduated as Certified Nutrition Therapy Practitioners (CNTP), 6 students graduated as Master Nutrition Therapists (MNT), 32 students graduated as Nutrition Therapist Masters (NTM), and 7 graduated as Natural Food Chefs (NFC). Congratulations to all our graduates!
NTI PodTalk – Our Podcast
Earlier this year we launched NTI PodTalk – this is our interview series where Director Dianne Koehler talks to interesting people about why they love nutrition, how they use it in their lives, and how being a part of NTI has impacted them. The podcast is available on all major podcast channels – Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Anchor, Breaker, RadioPublic, and Google Podcasts.
Collaboration with Sofia Health and Holistic Entrepreneur Association
This year, NTI has collaborated with 2 organizations to help our graduates build a thriving nutrition business. Sofia Health connects clients with holistic practitioners while providing a custom website, client scheduling and messaging, and billing and payment facilitation. NTI graduates receive one-year free premium membership in Sofia Health. The Holistic Entrepreneur Association is an online membership community with the mission of helping holistic nutrition professionals create a successful business. NTI graduates receive a free three-month Professional membership with the HEA.
Webinar Seminars
Over the past few months, NTI has connected with highly skilled practitioners to provide supplemental online nutrition training for our students and graduates. With most of our student body online, it is exciting to have the opportunity to reach our entire community through these special seminars.
Thank you to all our students, graduates, and nutrition community for your support this year! We wish you all a Happy and Healthy New Year!
