Fall makes me excited to pull out my hoodies and sweats, snuggle up in a comfy blanket, start a good movie, munch on food that feels warm and cozy, and nest. One snack I love during this time is these Bacon Wrapped Dates. They are super simple to make and bursting with flavor.

I like dates and bacon by themselves, but believe me when I say, you will be delighted with this perfect combo. All in one bite, you get the sweetness and gooeyness of the date, matched with the savory saltiness of the crunchy bacon that makes for the perfect treat. They are truly delicious. I made them for a cozy night in, but with the holidays approaching, you can dress them up and bring them as a scrumptious appetizer to any party.

They are great warm or cold, served by themselves, or added to a charcuterie board of other delicious meats, cheeses, nuts, and jams.

Why we love this recipe:

They may taste like candy, but they pack a healthy, nutrient-dense punch! Dates are a good source of energy and full of minerals such as selenium, copper, potassium, and manganese. They are also a great source of dietary fiber and antioxidants. Bacon from organic pasture-raised pigs is rich in protein, essential B vitamins, vitamin E, vitamin D, and minerals like phosphorus, zinc, and selenium. So, you can feel good about eating these up! 😊

Bacon Wrapped Dates

32 servings

Ingredients

16 slices organic, pasture-raised, antibiotic-free, non-GMO Bacon

32 medium organic Medjool Dates, pitted

Organic Black Pepper

Directions

Step 1

Heat oven to 400°F

Step 2

Using a knife, cut each slice of bacon in half crosswise at a diagonal, like cutting a ribbon. Starting at the straight end of the bacon, roll the bacon around the dates. Tuck the point under the wrapped bacon to secure. Place seam side down on a baking sheet.

Step 3

Place in the oven and heat the oven to 400 degrees. Cook for 10 minutes, then flip, and cook until golden brown all over, another 5 to 15 minutes, depending on the thickness of your bacon.

Step 4

Season with black pepper, then transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to crisp and cool slightly.
